Double Chocolate Collagen Shake

Updated: Feb 27, 2022

This is the most perfect thing to have on a hot New Zealand afternoon. None of us could believe how good it is, and it's become a regular addition to our house this summer. My daughter loves making it with me and then enjoying the goods afterwards as you can see! She'd also like some credit for this recipe so here you go sweet girl (I love enjoying this with you) x The recipe has quite a few benefits in my books:

  • It's cold, creamy and delicious.

  • It easily satisfies a sweet tooth, with zero sense of deprivation.

  • It's ketogenic friendly with just 3 grams of net carbohydrates, 8 grams of fat and 7 grams of protein.

  • It contains collagen which is one of my favourite things to help support beautiful digestion, skin, hair and nails from the inside out.

  • It takes approximately two minutes to make.

  • It tastes nothing like a traditional protein shake

  • Cacao is rich in many essential minerals including the master mineral, magnesium.

  • It's easily made dairy free.

Double Chocolate Collagen Shake Recipe

Serves 3 | 132 calories per serving

Ingredients

2 cups, unsweetened coconut milk or raw cow's milk

1 teaspoon dark cocoa powder (I like Avalanche)

100ml dark chocolate sorbet

8 ice cubes

1 tablespoon peanut butter (optional - we buy Pics crunchy)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor (I use my Vitamix) on high until completely smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

*If you don't have the Collagen Fuel drink mix, you can use 1 scoop of collagen peptides, 1 teaspoon sweetener such as low carb sweetener and increase the cocoa powder to a quarter cup.
